Day 1

I am lucky that when Covid shut down much of the world, I was able to retreat to a small rented farm near Olympia, Washington. We have fields and forests on our property. In these days when death counts crowd the headlines, I’m surrounded by a mandala of life. I want to celebrate that by zeroing in, each day, got a hundred dates, on one of the living things that shares this place with me. It can be plant, animal, fungal, microbial, native, introduced, invasive, domestic. I don’t want to judge where any given species for it’s place in this web. I just want to recognize life in all it’s crazy range, and learn a little bit along the way.
